PAINTING THE FIREPLACE BLACK!

Yes, after a lot of back and forth, we did it. Painted the fireplace! Including the granite!

Since we painted the window frames before, we knew it would tie the living room together; while creating a focal point.

We used Tricorn Black from SW with a satin finish and chalk finish black paint for the granite.

This was where we started at:

Then we first painted the frame. Painting the frame:

Next day, we painted the granite surround to finish the work! It gave us some time to be sure about painting. And yes, I was sure... The texture and color scheme could only work if we have a cohesive look.

When we went to Lowe's for the paint, the customer service specialist was also confused, are you painting the granite?? But it was not going to work unless we painted the full space.

Now we have a dramatic focal point in the living-room. I feel ready for the cozy season.
